A Reason to Celebrate… by Lanier Ivester | Mar 28, 2006 | Journal Entries | 9 comments Bread and butter, devoid of charm in the drawing room, is ambrosia eaten under a tree. Elizabeth Von Antrim Some of my thoughts on tea party weather… 9 Comments Jessica on March 28, 2006 at 1:12 pm Hello… What a delightful quote! Is it from a book? If it is…then it sounds like a book I would like to read! Reply Bernadine on March 28, 2006 at 10:01 pm Beautiful photo! Is that the tree where the Tea Party is being held? Reply Deb on March 28, 2006 at 11:30 pm Lanier, the tree is absolutely lovely!! I gasped when I first saw it. Aren’t we blessed to have a God who has given us such beauty this side of heaven? May your special tea party under the canopy of blossoms be complete with good weather, good conversation, sweet smells, and bread and butter ambrosia! 🙂 Reply Lanier Ivester on March 29, 2006 at 11:38 pm Hello, Jessica! Just so you’ll know, the quote is from a book called Elizabeth and Her German Garden which I haven’t read yet, but I’ve heard great things of…it’s actually next on my reading list. It’s the true story of a middle-class English woman who marries a German nobleman around the turn of the last century. Thank you, Bernadine! Yes, that is the tree. 🙂 And thank you, Deb, for your lovely good wishes. Yes, we are deeply blessed to have so much beauty to enjoy in life… Reply Jessica on March 30, 2006 at 8:00 pm Okay…thanks for letting me know! I think I’ll add it to my reading list too! Reply ebbyanne on March 31, 2006 at 1:15 pm I think I need to find someone to have tea with me 🙂 Reply Katie on March 31, 2006 at 5:03 pm What a beautiful tree! We have a small baby cherry tree in our yard that produces only about 10 blooms every year… I keep hoping that it will speed-grow into a magnificent beauty like yours, but it surely does take a long time! Thank you for sharing the beauty of your tree with those of us who don’t have one (not yet, anyway!). 🙂 Reply Deb on April 5, 2006 at 10:11 pm Just curious if your tea party has happened yet. I’m still praying for good weather and loads of fragrant blossoms for you! Reply Lanier Ivester on April 6, 2006 at 8:24 am You are so sweet, Deb! 🙂 It’s tomorrow… Reply Submit a Comment Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
